The Swiss Mahjong Association was founded in september 2010. The goals of the SMO are :
- to practice the mah-jong as a game and a sport, in every possible format, with no restrictions about the rulesets ;
- the promotion of mahjong during :

- teaching sessions ;
- meetings
- the organization of mahjong tournaments.
